Deputy Minister of Ministry of Economic Development, Mr. Ahmed Inaz today released the official report of the first SME loan scheme implemented by the Ministry in association with the Bank of Maldives. The function was held at the Ministry at 11.00am.

During the release function, Mr. Inaz highlighted that the objectives of the loan scheme were mainly to support struggling SMEs during the economic down and promote development of new SMEs in the short term. The long-term objectives include creation of employment, diversification of economy and improvements in national productivity through increasing SME activities.
