The first round of the SME Loan Scheme was launched on 1 March 2011 and the deadline for the submission of applications under the scheme is 31 March 2011, the Bank of Maldives is currently in the process of checking the credit history and collateral requirements of the shortlisted candidates who applied for the loan scheme. The bank indicated that some of the applicants from the initial shortlists were not financially eligible for the loans based on credit assessment check carried out by the Bank. 

As such, in the interest of expediting the loan process,  the Ministry of Economic Development has sent the remaining list of applications. These applications have been ordered as per the evaluation conducted by the evaluation committee.

The Bank of Maldives will arrange the loan for the application as per the priority order.
